He said that nationwide exercises will be conducted in 16 languages at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore, he said after laying the foundation stone of a new building of registrar general and Census Commissioner of India.

Shah said that the census date will be March 1, 2021, but there will be snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

“Census data will be collected through a mobile app. This is the first time that the mobile app will be used for census practice. India will move from pen and paper census to digital data, which will be a major revolution in the country’s census exercise. “

Referring to the 2024 census, he said the data will help plan the future of the country, especially for development initiatives and welfare schemes, and it will be a Bhag jan participation practice.’ Census 2024 House Hold Mobile Apps download

“A total of 130 crore population of India should be informed about its benefits. How, census data can be used for future planning, development initiatives and welfare schemes. Shah said the use of census data is multidimensional and will contribute significantly to the progress of the country.

The home minister also said that the census will help in demarcation of boundaries of municipal wards, assemblies and Lok Sabha constituencies.

He appealed to the authorities to carry out the exercise honestly as it will be an opportunity for them to do this virtue, which will help in nation building.

Earlier, the government used to run welfare schemes on a welfare basis and no comprehensive plan was formulated by the previous governments, Shah said.

The whole approach on Narendra Modi becoming prime minister in 2014 had changed. The approach has been completely changed, the mindset has been changed. Targets have been set to completely eliminate the problems,” he said.

The home minister said that based on the 2011 census, the Modi government had planned 22 welfare schemes relating to electricity connections, gas connections, construction of roads, opening of houses, toilets, bank accounts and bank branches for the poor in every household, among others.

Citing the example of the government’s flagship ‘ Ujjwala ‘ scheme to provide free LPG connections to poor families, he said that it has been successful as the scheme was prepared on the basis of census data of 2011.

“Until 2022, there will not be a family that will not have a gas connection,0 He said.

Shah also said that the 2011 census has shown poor sex ratio of men and women in some states. That is why the programme of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao was launched.

“Under this scheme, the Haryana government has worked so much in the last five years that the state’s sex ratio is now the best in the country,0 He said.

The Home Minister said india’s population accounts for 17.5 per cent of the world’s total population, while the geographical area accounts for just 2.4 per cent of the world’s total geographical area.

“So, naturally, natural resources are limited compared to the population in India. So, to fill this gap of inequality, we have to work hard,” he said.

Shah said that with the census exercise, the list of general residents of the country will also be collected by the National Population Register (NPR).

Officials said NPR could be the basis of the All India edition of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam.
